Heather Root

Heather Root completed her PhD with Bruce McCune in September 2011.  She is now a post-doc with Matthew Betts, an Associate Professor in the Department of Forest Ecosystems and Society, Oregon State University. Heather's research involves how environment and human activities shape species distributions and community dynamics, and in particular understanding ecological effects of biofuels and plantation forestry with an emphasis on identifying thresholds in bird responses.

Myrica McCMyrica McCuneune is a GIS Analyst with the Institute for Natural Resources at Oregon State University. Myrica is part of the spatial data team for the Integrated Landscape Assessment Project. Her research interests include the integration of qualitative and quantitative methods of studying land use change, vegetation modeling, and remote sensing.
