Jaiswal lab's contribution on the draft haplotype‐phased assembly of the genome of a popular hop (Humulus Lupulus) cultivar cascade was recently published in The Plant Genome journal. Hop is an important ingredient for brewing beer and is well known for its rich secondary metabolites terpenes and polyphenols. This work was led by a team of researchers from the Department of Biochemistry and Biophysics, Center for Genome Research and Biocomputing, Department of Botany and Plant Pathology and School of Electrical Engineering and ; Computer Science at Oregon State University, the USDA-ARS-FSCR Corvallis, Oregon and the Pacific Biosciences of California (PacBio).
