I study freshwater invertebrates and am particularly interested in biogeography. I also research how aquatic invertebrates can inform us about water and habitat quality and the consequences of human activities. and how they contribute to ecology as members of food webs. I have been part of a team studying freshwater copepods that parasitize salmonid fish species too.
In addition to participating in studies of freshwater invertebrates, I do identifications of terrestrial insects, spiders and mites for clients of the OSU Plant Clinic.
