The funding will build on other grants received that will help key laboratories in the National Plant Diagnostic Network implement use of whole genome sequencing in disease diagnosis by developing standards, workflows, and pipelines for use of WGS data. Additionally, an archive of curated genomic data is being established that will be freely accessible for public access by other scientists.
Melodie Putnam (Oregon State University Plant Clinic) received funding from the Western Region’s IPM Center for a project entitled “Use of Whole Genome Sequencing in Disease Diagnostic Laboratories can Enhance Risk Mitigation.”
