Diagnosing plant problems will involve weekly field trips, sample collection and analysis. Students will learn how to recognize symptoms and signs of diseased plants. Problems that occur on Oregon 's economically important crops will be studied from forest to fruit, ornamental to vegetable. Microscopic to high tech diagnostic tests will be discussed or practiced on samples collected around the state. Skills learned will be highly marketable in any plant-related job.
